The "I too can bake bread!" challenge...

I just love fresh baked bread. Who doesn't love that soft texture slathered with butter? It's definitely not for the faint of heart with all that gluten. However, it can be quite healthy if you add whole grains to it, and not to mention filling.

To be honest, I've always been intimidated by making bread. I mean you've gotta have a degree in Molecular Science of Culinary Creations right? (Yes, I made that degree up). But honestly, it's sooooo easy to make bread. In just a few minutes of time over the course of two days, you too can have wonderful tasting bread that you will be proud to serve up on your dinner table.

So I would like to start an "I too can bake bread!" challenge. Over the next few days, I will be posting how to make your own sourdough starter, what it should look like, and how to have fresh baked bread that you can serve up for dinner, or use as your sandwich bread whenever you want it, and how to maintain your starter.

Now mind you, I have been only baking bread for a short while. All in all, about 3 months time. so I am in no way saying that I am an expert.  So if you would like to participate in this challenge, head on over to your favorite store and pick up a bag of flour and purified water if you don't already have them. Most flours will work.  You can of course use Bread flour, but I use all-purpose (not self-rising) because I like the flavor it gives.

I would also like to have a give away for (1) $5.00 Amazon gift card if you participate in the challenge. To be fair, I will give you the details on how to enter the giveaway in the first post that starts the challenge.

Until next post,

Josiah's first haircut

On July 11th, we had Josiah's first haircut appointment. I was nervous and excited at the same time. He was a champ and didn't cry at all.......but I can't say the same for myself. I cried because well, my little man was growing up. I didn't cry right away, actually it was on the way home that I got to thinking about it. How 10 almost 11 months ago he was still nestled in my belly, and how birthing him brought such joy to our hearts, and a new love for our first born child. So yes, I got emotionaly and cried. That's what Mom's do best...but enough talk about tears. Here are a few pictures of his first haircut.

~"HEY MOM! Can we get a train too?"~

~ "Share?" OOOOkkkaaay!"~

~Sitting in the tractor chair waiting for the cut.~

~"My very own Cellphone? Cool!"~

~Scissors just wern't "cutting" it close enough with
Mom, so we asked if she could use clippers~

~See Mom, I'm not scared. I'm a big boy!~

~Do you mind! I'm trying to play here!~

~All done, and now he looks like a little boy.~

~"Look Mom! I'm a real boy!"~

I love you son! You will always be Momma's sweet baby boy!

T.G.I.F: HOT Capri Sun Coupon and Mega Swagbucks

I rarely see coupons for Capri Sun, but right now if you head over the to the Capri Sun Facebook page and like them, you can print out a $1.00/3 coupon. It is however in Spanish. After liking the page, you will want to find the tab on the left side that says "Elecciones". Once you click that, you can click the red or green button, and then you can click a second green button to take you to the page to print the coupon.

Don't forget to search using Swagbucks today. Fridays have a better chance of giving you high value Swagbucks that you can turn in for gift cards to Amazon.com (450 SB). Perhaps you need a new iron? The Swagstore has SOOOO many things to choose from. You can snag this guy for 2,349 SB. I earn about (1) $5.00 Amazon.com gift card a month just by doing my normal searches. So if you are a heavy search engine "searcher" you might earn more than I do. Also, if you have referrals, you also get Swagbucks from when your friends/referrals earn them. It's a win, win situation for all. So if you haven't signed up for swagbucks yet, you can do so here.

Sponsors, Giveaways, and Reviews?

Recently I was looking at my baby gear and thinking that I needed to do a review on what I purchased, and then the bright idea came to me.

I should start reviewing baby products. I have been kicking around ideas on where I would like my blog to head, and I think I have found where I want it to go.

SOOOOO, that being said, if you are looking for a place to promote your product but don't know where to go, consider me. I would love to review your product and/or host a giveaway.  I don't charge and I am very fair in my reviews.

If you are interesting in advertising on my blog, please let me know. Please contact Angela at:

Thredup- a great place to swap your children's clothes at.

A couple months back, I found a website called thredup.com. It's a website where mothers can swap their childrens clothes around. In a nutshell, you sign up, thredup sends you boxes to send you items in, you put a box of gently used clothing together, and offer it up on thredup.com, someone picks it, you print the postage and you send it to them. You do need a printer to print the postage, but it cost nothing for you to send the box. In return you get a credit of anywhere from $0-5 per box (depending on what is in the highest demand). You can then turn around and use that credit to purchase a box. Each box is $15.95. It's $5 per box plus shipping ($10.95). (Please remember that you won't always get a credit for your box.)

It's a win, win situation. You get rid of clothes that no longer fit your little Johnny or Susie, and you get to pick another box at a great price. Most boxes have in between 10-15 items per box, so that's like paying $1-1.50 per item. Not a bad deal.

You can sign up here.
