"Take Me to the King"

The first time I ever heard this song, it really struck a note within me. How many times as a Christian are we discouraged; just going through the motions of Church and we obviously don't want to give up or walk away. But the fight has worn on us.

It's times like this, I encourage myself with a song, remind myself that it's not my strength I need to rely on, and lean on HIM, the who is my strength.

So today, I'd like to leave a bit of encouragment to those who a battle weary.

Psalm 46 KJV

1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

This life is full of sadness, anger, and many hurting people. So I challenge you to look around your work place, school, and your neighborhood. Look deeper than what people say, and see if God won't lead you to someone who needs HIM.

Lyrics:

TAMELA MANN -

Take Me To The King Lyrics

I don't have much to bring
My heart is torn in pieces
It's my offering

Truth is I'm tired
Options are few
I'm trying to pray
But where are you?
I'm all churched out
Hurt and abused
I can't fake
What's left to do?

Truth is I'm weak
No strength to fight
No tears to cry
Even if I tried
But still my soul
Refuses to die
One touch will change my life

I don't have much to bring
My heart's torn in pieces
It's my offering

Lay me at the throne
Leave me there alone
To gaze upon Your glory
And sing to You this song
Please take me to the King

Truth is it's time
To stop playing these games
We need a word
For the people's pain

So Lord speak right now
Let it fall like rain
oh, yeah, We're desperate
We're chasing after you

No rules, no religion
I've made my decision
To run to You –
The healer that I need

I don't have much to bring
My heart's torn to pieces
It's my offering

Lay me at the throne
Leave me there alone
To gaze upon Your glory
And to sing to You this song

Take me to the...

Lord we're in the way
We keep making mistakes
Glory is not for us
It's all for You

I don't have much to bring
My heart's torn to pieces
It's my offering

Lay me at the throne
Leave me there alone
To gaze upon Your glory
And sing to You this song

I had my first Quiz in college last week

Boy was I ever scared too!

Leeeeeeeeettt's just say I graduated in 2000, so this is the first time I am going back to school since then.

When I started college, I had no idea what it was going to be like. I anticipated it to be SUPER HARD, but it's not. In fact, it's a little too easy. Maybe because I am only taking Child Development classes, but if I don't get an A on my quiz, I'd be surprised.

I'm just thankful that I felt confident enough on my first quiz, and that I didn't blank out.
