10 weeks and 2 days

This week we have reached week 10. I can't believe that we are this far along. Baby Willoughby is now the sized of a Kumquat. My morning sickness has now gone away. I have also developed a bad cold, and so have suffered the cough and sniffles of it. Not fun!


I have decided to not look for a job. It's not like they will hire a pregnant lady anyways right? So we are trusting in God to provide our needs. He is able!

On a side note, I already have my crib and changing table. We got those months ago, and were saving them for the time we would be expanding the family. Any hand me downs are appreciated too!

As far as themes for a nursery, I was thinking of going with the Character Rip Squeak, and depending on gender, white eyelet, or bright reds, greens, blues, and purples. Anyhoo, Rip Squeak is adorable. (see pic below)

I am open to ideas, so if you have any, just let me know.

9 Weeks and 1 day

So today we are 9 weeks and 1 day along. I am still amazed at how the human body is formed. I mean today our baby is about the size of a medium grape. Weird to think that our baby started out smaller that period at the end of this sentence. I still need to post the pictures from last weeks ultrasound, and once our computer is up and running again, I will do so. Hard drive crashed...will be fixing it hopefully within a week or so.

So in the mean time, I have not had any cravings per se, mainly food disinterest. It's like I'll make dinner, but don't really want to eat it. I do have to say, that I love fruit, and can't get enough of it, (but I wouldn't call it a craving). Grapes, oranges, apples....any will do :)

This last week we decided to tell our church. They were SOOOOO excited....did I say excited. I think it has to do with the fact that I practically grew up there. I started attending our church when I was 16...so almost half my life.

We are blessed to have so many friends that are willing to help, and lend support. I'll be posting each week. So keep your eyes tuned in for the latest happenings around the Willoughby household.

Yes, we are indeed Pregnant!

So we are officially announcing that we are pregnant. Joel and I went in for the first ultrasound/appointment today, and I have to say I was very...did I say very?....very nervous.

Most people do not know this, but a year ago (December 2008), we had a miscarriage. We went in for our 9 week appointment, and found that the baby measured in at 6 weeks without a heartbeat. We were devastated....and waited for the impending miscarriage to come a month later.

And so with that in mind, we attended this morning's appointment (at 8 weeks, 4 days along, according to my calculations) more nervous than should be expected.

So here is a video of the appointment, and our wonderful news! A heartbeat...I cried through the whole thing. I couldn't stop...blame it on hormones, but I think it was just the fact that we had a viable, living baby, and I was overjoyed.

Let's not forget Joel! He was super excited. Just look at that cheesy Cheshire Cat grin on his face.
