A special unspoken request...
Hello Friends, Family, and Fellow Bloggers,
Joel and I have a special unspoken request. If you can find just a few minutes to pray about this, we would really appreciate it.
Joel and I have prayed about this particular situation, but now it's time to call reinforcements in, because we really need God to intervene.
Thank you and love you so much, Angela

A sad day for Republicans... and Americans in General
My husband and I did our duty as American Citizens and went this morning to the Voting Precincts.
As I listend to the Consession and Acceptance speeches I was saddend in my heart. Knowing that God has His hand on this election is my only hope, but it just makes me wonder what the next four years will hold.
May God have Mercy on the America and the Church.
It is a relief to know that Proposition 4 and 8 looks like it will pass. Thank God!
Happy Third Anniversary!
So Joel and I just made the three year mark on October 29th. It's amazing how fast time flies!
Happy Anniversary to my darling Husband, Joel!

Special songs sang in church
Do you have a favorite song you like to sing when you are asked to sing a special in church? What about that special person who sing like "Heaven", do you like the songs they pick?
Here are two wonderful song I came across this afternoon that would make a perfect solos. I plan on getting the sound trax and singing them when next asked (which is not very often). They are beautiful.
Do they see Jesus in me? -Joy Williams
Verse 1
Is the face that I see in the mirror
the one I want others to see
Do I show in the way that I walk in my life
The love that You've given to me
My heart's desire is to be like You
In all that I do, all I am
Chorus
Do they see Jesus In Me
Do they recognize Your face
Do I communicate Your love, and Your grace
Do I reflect who You are
In the way I choose to be
Do they see Jesus In Me
Verse 2
It's amazing that you'd ever use me
But use me the way You will
Help me to hold out a heart of
compassionate grace
A heart that You're spirit fills
May I show forgiveness and mercy
The same way You've shown it to me
Bridge"
Now I want to show all the world who You are
The reason I live and breathe
So You'll be the One that they see
When they see me
and
Written in Red- Not sure who it is by
Verse 1
In letters of crimson God wrote
His love on a hillside so long
long ago. For you and for me
Jesus died. Love's greatest
story was told.
Chorus
I love you.
I love you.
That's what Calvary said.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you written in red.
Verse 2
Down through the ages God
wrote His love with the same
hands that suffered and bled.
Giving all that He had to give
The message so easily read:
Chorus
Medley Bride:
Oh precious is the flow that makes
me white as snow. No other fount
I know. Nothing but the blood
the blood of Jesus.
Chorus
Do they see Jesus in me is on my blog, so listen for it.
Let me know what you think of the songs.

I GOT A JOB!!!!!
Finally after 5 months of searching, I have finally found a job. After sending out what seems like a million resumes (in actuality it was more like, a few short of 100, but not much short!)
It definitely was not what I was expecting, but I am excited nonetheless. My first day was on my Birthday, September 30th.
I am working for the Law Offices of Wayne McFadden in San Mateo. It's actually quite intersting the way I got the job. I was asking a sister in our church (Sister Mary Barragan) on help for answers on some supplemental questions, for a position with the city of San Leandro.
She gave me the corrected version of my answers, and then send's me an email to see if I would be interested in working at the Law Office that she works part-time for (She will be full-time come November 10th, and I can hardly wait!!!).
Apparently, she said that they would be letting their Receptionist of 17 years go for personal reasons this December. I told her "Why not?!"
She asked me what I was looking to make, I told her, and then she emailed me back to say that
Mr. McFadden had agreed to the amount. She also told me to call him.
TALK ABOUT NERVOUS! This was it! I mean the real deal! No more interviewing, no more looking for a job, no more sending out resumes. The time had come that I would be returning back to the working field.
Let's just say I was so overjoyed, and yet so nervous at the same time. I was really enjoying my time at home being a Housewife.
So I called him (September 25th), and he told me I would be starting November 1. I thought "Okay! Cool! I have a little bit more time to be at home, make sure my house is in perfect order...blah, blah, blah." I get a call from him later on in the evening that same day, and he asked me if I could start sooner, and get aquainted with the office, so that come November, I will not be lost as to what I am supposed to be doing. So I said yes I could start sooner.
Again I was excited, yet nervous. The night before I was to start work, I cried and cried, knowing that my time as a housewife was coming to an end, but I KNOW GOD TAKES CARE OF HIS CHILDREN!!!!
Two weeks later, I am better and still excited. The thing that really is exciting for me, is the fact that I am learning a new area in my career. An area that I feel will help me make myself more valuable as an employee.
Mr. and Mrs. McFadden area such wonderful people, and they are even Christians. So for me to talk about Jesus, and my testimony is okay! What more could you ask for?
Just like my husband Joel preached a couple of weeks ago; God is a timely God. He's not on time, but timely.
I'm not sure just how much longer we would have been able to survive without a paycheck from me, but God never failed us!!!! When funds were short, our Ebay business would do good.
It's a blessing to be a child of the King! He always takes care of His children!
One more thing I would like to add. Every job I have ever had, has always been handed to me.
When I worked for Warehouse music, I knew the Manager; when I worked for Trans-Box Systems, Sis. Serena worked there, and she gave a good word for me and I just started working, no interview or anything; when I worked as a bookkeeper in another San Mateo Law office, Sis. Mary just gave me the job; When I worked for the church, again I just started, no interview.
So why should this time be any different? God always led me in the direction He wanted me to go in. It's like I said in a couple other posts I would interview for positions, and interview again, but nothing every came of it, not even a rejection call saying "Thanks, but no thanks!"

Again, God led me in the path that He wanted me to go.
This job is a blessing! I am making $6.00 more an hour I was before!!!! Big pay raise huh! I know! GOD IS GOOD TO HIS CHILDEN!

With this job, it will enable my husband to quit his full-time job, work part-time, and go to school full-time.
I know that his going to school will be a sacrifice right now, but in 5 years, I will be able to stay home, and be a stay-at-home mommy!
I guess I should have titled this post as "God is Good to His children!", because He is.

A Christian who never speaks of her Savior...
Catchy title huh? I was just thinking the other day that I have had my blog for almost a year now and have never really devoted a posting to the Lord.
Sad....
So I decided that that had to change.
I was reading my Bible the other day and this scripture jumped out at me. I am not sure if it was really what I needed or just the simplicity of it that really got me to thinking.
I know that God does things for us that we do not always see, and that being one of His children has it's benefits. He has never forsaken us (Joel and I), even when we couldn't see a ways out of our situation. I am just so grateful that I am His child.
II Corinthians 4: 18
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

How exciting it is to have a birthday spent with friends and family. Today Joel and I want to let you know how much we appreciate you (and your wife). Hope your day is filled with lots of presents and lots of love.

Update on my search for a career
OOOOOKKKKAAAAYYY..............I received my letter back from the San Lorenzo Unified School District. I was almost afraid to open it last Tuesday. I just knew that I was going to be rejected....funny how doubt comes and we just readily accept it...but I wasn't rejected.
I placed 5th on both the Office Manager and the Attendance Technician List. I am assuming that is good. I know when I took the Attendance Technician test there was at least 25 others taking it as well, but I am not sure if they all passed. So it may just be a few months before I get a call. In the mean time here is what I have been doing:
*Sending my resume out like mad.
*July 31st, I took a "Clerk" Exam for the Alameda County Office of Education.
*August 5th, I took a "Senior Records Clerk" Exam for the Berkeley Unified School District. (Still waiting to hear back to know if I passed)
*August 12th, I have an Exam for "School Secretary III" Position for Berkeley Unified School District.
*August 12th, I have an interview for the "Clerk" position at the Alameda County Office of Education at 11:55 p.m., so keep me in prayer.
*August, 14th, I have an Exam for "Office Specialist" Position with Hayward Unified School District.
Things are looking up. For the longest time I felt like I did not have much going on, and now it seems that every week I am taking a test(for places that had previously rejected my resume) or interviewing.
I know God will provide. Our eBay store is doing quite well too. It is definitely helping when funds are falling short.
Keep you posted when I hear of anything.

Tomorrow's my interview...
So tomorrow is the big day. In Jesus name this job is mine. I have my outfit already picked out and waiting patiently for 11:20 a.m. to come. It seems weird that it's already here and the anticipation I had been feeling is easing into something more like, um for a lack of words, acceptance. Acceptance that it's here, and acceptance that it's mine. So if you can remember to pray for me, I would appreciate it.
God Bless,
Angela

A new job for Angela...
Most might have heard that I had decided to pursue a different career path. I put my notice in on June 11th, and was hoping to have a job by the time my last day came along (July 9th), but as God would have it, I have not found another position.
I have two interviews next week (July 29th at 11:20 a.m., and July 31st at 3:00 p.m.) for an Office Manager position , and an Attendance Technician position with the San Lorenzo Unified School District. The Attendance Tech job is just a waiting list for the position, but the Office Manager has an opening at Washington Manor Middle School. I have taken my (BY FAITH)letter of acceptance (basically, the letter that says I passed the test and have an interview) with me to the altar of prayer, and well, actually everywhere I go.
The funny thing....I have over 50 applications that I have sent out, and these are the only two that I have interviews with. I know God has the timing all down and everything, but I guess I was hoping that my application would scream "HIRE HER!!!!"...but God knows where He wants me.
Anyways if you could remember me and say a prayer that God would give me favor, because I am terrified of the interview part. I have never really had a formal interview, so this will be my first, and I haven't the slightest idea on what to say.
I'll keep you posted on the outcome.

Oh to be a kid again...
Well, next week, Joel, Bryan, Siena, and I can pretend that we are!
Can you guess where we are going?
Yep! That's right!!!!
Yep! That's right!!!!
DISNEYLAND!!!!
Three fun-filled days to be worry and care free! We leave early Thursday morning, and come back late Monday. Our trip entails (no pun intended there), ARGHHHH!, a Pirate's Dinner, Magic Mountain, dinner at the Santa Monica Pier, a Gopsel Sunday Brunch, and we even get to see our long lost buddies, "The Mouses" (The Mickey Mouses' that is). As the time get closer, I keep clapping my hands and getting the giggly laugh. You know the one? When your anticipating something good to happen!
Like on Christmas morning and all the presents are out under the tree, (and even the night before when you couldn't sleep because you wanted to open up your gifts right now and see what you got), and you jumping on Mom and Dad's bed saying "MOM! DAD! Come on, GET UP!!! COME OOOOOONNNNNNN!!!!! It's Christmas morning! Let's open the preeeeeesssseeeeeeennnnnntsssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!"
That's exactly how I feel!!! I can't wait to walk through the doors of DISNEYLAND and be all giggly like a care free kid!

Prayer Request
Tuesday, July 22, 2008~
So while we were on vacation, Sis. Rushing had yet another hospital trip due to high potassium levels. They got that under control and she came home last Wednesday. Sunday night Sis. Rushing came to church and gave such a moving testimony of about how God knows the reasons that we go through things, and it was very moving (I can say that there was probably not a dry eye in the room). She did go home during service because she was not feeling good again, but God has His hand in all of this like Sis. Rushing said. As I receive updates, I will post them.
JULY 8, 2008 Morning Update~
Sis. Rushing had the heart cath done yesterderday that included another two stints (for a total of 6 stints in the last two weeks). She did not have another heart attack, but when doing to heart cath procedure they found another artery 80% blocked and inserted a stint. She seemed to be doing good before our Pastor left the hospital for the evening, but when he came back to the Hospital in the morning, they said that last night she lost a lot of blood, and would be in need of a blood transfusion today. She will not be going home today, possibly tomorrow.
JULY 7th Morning update~
JULY 7th Morning update~
She was admitted to Fremont Kaiser where they determined that she would need to undergo another Heart Cath to prevent another Heart attack from happening. She will be moving to Santa Clare Kaiser sometime today, and hopefully have the procedure sometime this afternoon.
July 7th Afternoon update:
The procedure went well and she is resting.
Hi all,
Most might have not heard that Sis. Rushing had a heart attack about two weeks ago. I will say one thing about Sis. Rushing, she may have poor health, but she is a SOLDIER!!!
June 24th~
She went into the hospital Tuesday morning with pains in her chest that she said were similar to her heart attack she had 8 years ago. Her EKG's were abnormal, all different results, and showed signs of a heart attack. The doctor's gave her a blood transfusion and said she may be facing open heart surgery, but were going to try and do a heart cath, and see if they could fix the problem with that.
June 26th~
They did a heart cath on her and inserted 4 stints and the following day she went home. The procedure took a little over 3 hours, but seemed to be doing well. While the surgery took place, they found an artery that was 100% blocked, but they were able to open it up with a stint, and she was not going to need open heart surgery.
This last week she has been home resting with some discomfort, but tonight (Sunday, June 6th) she went back to the hospital with chest pains again and may have just been low on her blood level again, but I am asking if you could keep her in prayer.
She is my inspiration, and someone I look up to. We don't always get to have a personal relationship with our Pastor's wife, but she is like the mom that I didn't have, and when it was hard to keep going, she was there!!!
She is what a true Christian is, and should be! I know God can do a miracle in her life, because He has done so, many times before.
Thanks in advance for your prayers. I know the Rushing family will appreciate you lifting them up in prayer. I'll post updates as I hear them.

Sadie, our Chihuahua mix, our little lady
Sadie sleeping the day after we got her. She is barely larger than my hand. Tiny huh?
Sadie at about 2 months old.
Sadie at about 2 months old.
So we finally decided to get a dog back in January. I was so worried that she would be ugly, and I kept telling Joel "Let's get a dog already grown up.", that way I knew how she would look all grown up. So when Joel brought her to my office in a box, the whole time he was on his way I was worried she wouldn't be cute, but she was the most tiny and adorable dog I had ever seen. (Of course, everyone says that about their first baby...lol).
We were so unprepared for her arrival. We had nothing at all. Not a bed, or food, or even a blanket. What were we to do?
I know, let's go to Target! But as soon as we walked in, the guard told us we would have to take the dog out. She was barely 4 weeks old. How could we leave her in the car?
So off to the Pet store we went, where animals were permitted entry. There we bought the necessities, and even a milk replacement for puppies.
One of the main reasons we were not prepared was, one, because she was so young, and we thought we had a couple more weeks before receiving her, and two, the lady we received the dog from couldn't handle her allergies, that were caused by her daughter's dogs anymore, and they needed to find homes quickly for the pups.
She became our pride and joy, and for the first two weeks we brought her to church, work, and wherever we went. Since she was introduced to people at such a young age, it's no wonder she loves people.
We've not met a more friendly chihuahua than Sadie. If a visitor walks up to our door, her tail and backside wag so much, she looks as if it's going to fall off. She is defiantly a good dog (when she's not trying to chew on my fingers, or ankles, and scratch Joel) and loves to be petted by all her friends (that is to say, anyone she meets becomes her friend).
